Do I really start without a credit card?
Yes. You sign up with your business name, category, and 10 buyer queries we lock with you during onboarding. No credit card. Our 10,000-device farm starts ranking work immediately. We monitor your queries daily. When ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini names your business in one of those queries, we email you the evidence (transcript + screenshot), give you 7 days to verify the finding, then bill the first $497 14 days after that notification. Until AI names you, the service is free. If you cancel before AI names you, you never pay a cent.
What does "free until ChatGPT recommends you" actually mean?
It means we don’t charge you until AI names your business in your locked buyer queries. Specifically: we monitor your 10 locked queries every day on real consumer devices. The day your business appears named in at least one of those queries on ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini, we send you the evidence and a 7-day verification window. After that window, we issue a billing notice and the first $497 is charged 14 days later. If we never name you, you never pay. What is a Keyword Cluster?
A Keyword Cluster is a family of related queries built around one core keyword — your most important subject area, service, or theme. Instead of tracking one keyword in isolation, a cluster groups the questions your buyers actually ask AI engines about that topic. For example, a roofing company might have a Keyword Cluster around "roof replacement cost" that covers questions like "how much does a new roof cost," "roof replacement financing," and "best roofing contractors near me." Each cluster maps to one coherent ranking objective. Signal AEO includes up to 5 clusters.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Signal AEO is month-to-month. Cancel from your account dashboard before the next billing date and you will not be charged again. No call required, no forms, no retention scripts. Signal Scale (enterprise) is an annual contract — terms are defined in the agreement we send before you sign.
What happened to the old plans?
In May 2026 we collapsed our 4-tier structure (Starter trial, Growth $297, Authority $697, Scale) into one main plan at $497/mo plus an enterprise tier. Existing customers on the old plans keep their pricing — nothing changes for them. New customers get the simpler offer: no credit card, no charge until AI names your business.
How fast does AI usually name a business?
14-day median. Many customers are named in under a week. Some take 30-60 days depending on category competitiveness and how much existing third-party content references their brand. Since you don’t pay until AI names you, the timeline doesn’t affect your bill — it only affects when you start paying.
Will this conflict with my existing SEO agency?
No. AEO and SEO are different jobs. SEO optimizes pages for crawlers ranking results on a page. AEO seeds the third-party content footprint that AI engines use to choose which brands to name in generated answers. We do not touch your website content or your existing SEO work. Most of our customers keep their SEO agency and add SignalAEO as a separate line item — usually swapping spend from other channels rather than adding budget.
How do you bill?
Credit card, charged on your billing date once you decide to continue after the trial. You get a plain receipt the same day we charge. No surprise line items, no credits, no overages. If anything on your invoice looks wrong, reply to the receipt email and a human responds the same business day.
When is the credit card collected?
You provide payment information only after AI names your business. When citation is detected and verified, we send a billing notification with a 14-day notice period before the first $497 charge. You can enter payment during that window from your account dashboard. If you don’t enter payment within 30 days of the notification, the account is paused and your data is preserved for 90 days in case you change your mind.
